Course Overview
Linux is finding its way into business, education and government. Due to its outstanding reliability, performance and low cost, Linux is being used extensively for file, database and web server applications. This courses is designed to cover in detail the essential topics required to administer these systems. As there are many Enterprise Linux distributions, the choice of distribution used on the course is at the discretion of the client.
The Linux Enterprise Server System Administration course will allow delegates to manage user accounts; install software and hardware; access disk devices & boot-up and shutdown systems.
The course is not designed to follow any particular certification curriculum. However, completing this course along with the Linux Enterprise Server Advanced System Administration course, delegates will have sufficient knowledge to undertake the various vendor specific certification exams that are available.
Who should attend
Computer users who have attended the UNIX and Linux Fundamentals course or have equivalent knowledge and will be required to administer one or more Enterprise class Linux systems.

Due to its outstanding reliability, performance and low cost, Linux is being used extensively for file, database and web server applications. As there are many Enterprise Linux distributions, the choice of distribution used on the course is at the discretion of the client.
The Linux Enterprise Server Advanced System Administration course will allow delegates to create a local area network; set-up a Network File System server and clients; Network Information Services and DNS. Delegates will also be introduced to Samba to enable Windows based systems access to Linux services; and Apache for web server applications.
The course is not designed to follow any particular certification curriculum. However, completing the Linux Enterprise Server System Administration course prior to completing this course, will give delegates sufficient knowledge to undertake the various vendor specific certification exams that are available.
